Interior of Our gite in the Dordogne
Home from Home
The house has been refurbished since the photos. Lovely upstairs bathroom with separate shower cubicle and full-sized bath. Plenty of hanging space for clothes. Spacious open-plan downstairs area with English TV and Wifi. Kitchen with little extras like lunch boxes/cling film. Charcoal for BBQ. Washing machine with dryer for indoors, along with outdoor rotary line. As other reviewers have said, the owners are very friendly. Recommended a "night market" for evening meal- delicious duck and suburb cakes. Short drive to Chateau de Milandes also Castelnaud with a convenience store and patisserie (open all day and good for picnics by the river). Lovely quiet location with easy road connections to attractions.
“A Wonderful Two Weeks”
La Lande near Castelnaud la Chapelle is very good accommodation in the heart of the Dordogne, close to Beynac, La Roque Gageac, Domme, Sarlat, Castelnaud, etc. Well set up, good kitchen, 2 full bathrooms (one down and one up). Very quiet, tons of birds and wildlife all around, great place to see wild orchids down the country paths. Terrific owners who went above and beyond all expectations to make our stay very pleasant.
“Escape to Tranquillity”
It is some time since we visited the Dordogne with its spectcular scenery and extraordinary villages carved into the rocky banks of the river, and so it was quite a shock to see the number of other tourists who were also so obviously entranced by this beautiful region of France. Happy to join the throngs during the day, we considered our choice of holiday rental an absolute blessing as we made our escape to its solitude and tranquility each evening. Situated near the tiny village of Veyrines-de-Domme amongst woods and small farmlets, it offers all the comforts and facilities one would need to make for a relaxing holiday in the French countryside. The nearest restaurant, boulangerie/patisserie and small supermarket are in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, about 7 minutes away by car. Best of all perhaps are the many well-signed walking paths that surround La lande and are an ideal way of walking off too much Foie Gras or Confit du Canard. One week is barely enough to take in all that the local area has on offer, but we are so pleased to have had the opportunity to enjoy as much as we have, and to have stayed where we did.
“Lovely Holiday”
We had a lovely holiday. The property was lovely. Really peaceful and lots of space. Lovely area of France. Very helpful owners. Thank you

This is a holiday home you will yearn to come back to, and wish you had yourself, a piece of heaven on earth !! Warm Regards John & Barbara
“Would love to return”
We would love to return one day and will definitely recommend your house to our friends. It's in such a great position to explore as well. We made the journey to Rocamadour on Sunday which was fabulous too but we know there's still more to find so we need to come back. Thank you for being such great hosts and for letting us stay in your lovely home x
